Bhullar Group’s new facility promises job growth in Narrandera

Despite encountering a few setbacks, the Bhullar Group is poised to officially recommence operations in Narrandera next month, offering a promising boost to job opportunities in the town.

Specializing in metals, steel fabrication, welded beams, pre-fabricated steel, and steel processing, the Bhullar Group also provides highly skilled labor to the Australian industry through its Industrial Training Division.

General Manager Michael Bhullar expressed optimism about the move to Narrandera, highlighting the mutual benefits for both the business and the community. “Apart from the jobs and opportunities we are currently advertising for the production facility, it will also create openings in other trades indirectly related to our core business,” he explained. “This includes opportunities for concreters and civil engineering workers, providing them with steady employment for up to a year and a half.”

The company’s relocation from Sydney to Narrandera’s Red Hill Industrial Estate was strategically chosen due to the town’s central location, facilitating access to major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

Last year, the Bhullar Group announced plans to develop workshops on seven hectares of land, with an additional 3.5 hectares earmarked for future expansion. The initial phase involves constructing four workshops spanning 15,000 square meters.

Additionally, the company is exploring opportunities in the renewable energy sector, a move that could potentially double their workforce if successful.

Although job opportunities will gradually become available as operations in Narrandera are established, the goal is to employ up to 50 new workers once the first phase of development is complete. Currently, four locals are already employed in the temporary workshop.

Despite encountering challenges, such as sourcing contractors and meeting construction timelines, Mr. Bhullar remains optimistic. The decision to build a temporary workshop will facilitate the resumption of production by mid-May, ensuring continuity in operations.

The Bhullar Group aims to make Narrandera their primary and sole location for manufacturing and distribution. Mr. Bhullar will oversee operations in Narrandera and plans to relocate once operations are fully operational.
