Sienna takes on the world

Sienna Voglis, the Manager of cluBarham’s Golf and Sports Club, has earned the honor of representing Australia in this year’s Women’s PGA Cup, scheduled to take place in Oregon in October. Following two days of qualifying at Sandhurst Club, Sienna secured her spot among the five-woman Australian team.

During the qualifying rounds, Queensland’s Katelyn Must and Victorian Jenna Hunter emerged as the top performers, both finishing tied at 5-under. Grace Lennon from Victoria secured third place, while Lisa Jean, a previous Australian captain coaching at Royal Canberra, finished fourth after 36 holes.

Sienna Voglis, tying for fifth place, secured her spot through a playoff with Jessica Cook. Despite the pressure, Voglis held her ground, outlasting Cook’s struggles to clinch the final spot.

Reflecting on her achievement, Sienna expressed her excitement at representing cluBarham and her hometown of Barham on the international stage. This will mark Sienna’s second time representing Australia, following her participation in Texas in 2019, merely three months after giving birth to her daughter.

Sienna acknowledged the challenges she faced in her first international competition but is eager to make the most of this opportunity. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her club and community.

As Australia prepares to compete against teams from Canada, Great Britain and Ireland, South Africa, Sweden, and the United States, Sienna looks forward to showcasing her skills alongside fellow non-tour players, emphasizing the importance of representation for players outside the professional tour circuit
