As of May 8, 2024, readers will be invited to invest $2 for their weekly edition of the newspaper. This shift is necessitated by rising production expenses, compelling management to introduce this fee. However, alongside this change, readers can anticipate enhancements to the newspaper format, such as increased pages and additional features in the weeks to come.
Rest assured, the newspaper will maintain its current content, including articles contributed by the community and stories from journalists based in Grafton and Lower Clarence. Additionally, readers will have the option to opt for a home delivery subscription service, available in selected areas.
This decision to transition the CV Independent into a paid publication stems from the financial strain induced by the post-Covid years, subsequent declines in advertising revenue, and escalating production costs, rendering the existing business model untenable.
