Recent weeks have seen an abundance of activity on local roads, with a flurry of Hi-Vis vests, traffic cones, and traffic signals as crews tackle various Council and state road projects. The Toowoomba Karara Road, stretching from Drayton to Felton, has been particularly bustling, with motorists experiencing delays of up to fifteen minutes or more at certain points.
Similarly, the New England Highway, particularly in the Cambooya area between United Etonvale and Drayton Connection Road, has witnessed significant work, including road widening and wide-center line enhancements. Additional projects have been underway at Hodgson Vale along the highway, alongside various initiatives on Council roads.
Much of this road improvement activity across the district has been made possible through the utilization of flood recovery funds.
